Girls Rugby

Female participation in rugby has increased a massive 33% since 2017. Waitakere rugby club is proud to have 3 female only teams in 2022. We were lucky enough to host a number World rugby cup of games here at the Waitakere rugby club in October 2022 which was very exciting to see.

The girls only grades start from U9 and go through to U15 for both contact (tackle) and non contact (Rippa and Rip rugby) teams.

There are NO weight restrictions for Girls only teams in 2024.
Age grades are of the 1/01/2024
All coaches must register and attend a Small Blacks or equivalent course - see more info about Small Blacks coaching courses in Additional Information.
Girls can still play in mixed teams until the age of 13.
